FIELD REPORT PRO
Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
This policy explains how the Field Report Pro Android app ("the app") by Opticomm Enterprise (business registration IP0581930-D, Malaysia) handles information. In short: what you put in the app stays on your phone unless you choose to export, share or back it up, and Opticomm Enterprise does not receive it. The only other exception is the route map described below.
Information the app handles
- Job details you type in: job title and reference, your customer's name and contact number, the site address, job types and notes.
- Photos you take in the app, with the time from your phone stamped on them.
- Location, only if you allow it: the phone's recent position and accuracy are stamped on photos, and an outdoor cable route records GPS points while you walk it with the measurement screen open. The app never uses location in the background.
- Measurements: cable sections and routes you record.
- Your profile: business name, your name, role and contact details shown on the reports.
Where it is kept
Everything is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. The app has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not send your jobs, photos or location to Opticomm Enterprise.
When information leaves your phone
- Reports: only when you tap Save PDF or Share PDF, to the place or person you choose.
- Backup file: only when you tap Back up all jobs, to the place you choose (for example Files or Google Drive).
- Google Drive backup (optional): if you connect Google Drive, the app saves backup files of your jobs, photos and
profile in the app's own hidden folder in your Google Drive (Google's "app data" folder), once a day on Wi-Fi and when you
tap Back up now, and reads them back only when you restore. The app asks only for access to that folder
(
drive.appdata): it cannot see, change or delete your other Drive files. Your Google account is used only to give the app this access; the app does not read your name, email address or contacts. Google's own privacy policy applies to Google Drive. - Route map: when you open an outdoor route, the app shows it on a Google map. To draw that map, the map area and the route's GPS points are sent to Google Maps; your job details and photos are not. Google's privacy policy applies. The PDF report uses the app's own route sketch, not a Google map.
Field Report Pro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information from Google Drive is used only to back up and restore your own jobs; it is not shared, sold, used for advertising, or read by people.
Permissions
- Camera: to take job photos and the optional camera measurement.
- Location (optional): photo stamps and outdoor routes, only while the app is open.
- Internet: only for the optional Google Drive backup and the route map.
Keeping and deleting information
- Delete a photo or a job in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on the phone.
- Reports and backup files you saved or shared stay where you put them.
- Google Drive backups: the app keeps the last three and deletes older ones. To delete them all, disconnect Google Drive in the app, then in Google Drive open Settings > Manage apps > Field Report Pro > Delete hidden app data. You can also remove the app's access in your Google Account (Security > Third-party apps with account access).
Your customers' information
If you record your customers' names, numbers, addresses or photos of their premises, you are responsible for having their agreement and for handling it lawfully (for example under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010). The app helps by keeping it on your phone and by sharing it only when you choose.
Children
The app is a work tool for adults and is not directed to children.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if the app's handling of information changes, with a new date at the top. Questions or requests: opticomm.sales@gmail.com, Opticomm Enterprise, Selangor, Malaysia.
